May 10, 2024, marks the 141st Commencement Day for graduates of the University of Southern California.

USC’s main Commencement ceremony on May 10 opens with a grand academic procession beginning at 8:30 a.m., followed by remarks by university leadership, the conferring of honorary degrees, addresses by the valedictorian and commencement speaker, and the formal conferring of degrees that marks the moment when members of the current graduating class officially become USC alumni.

Following the main Commencement ceremony, each academic school hosts their own ceremony, usually followed by a reception. Each school’s ceremony is an opportunity for graduates to celebrate as a cohort group, hear remarks from a distinguished speaker related to their chosen disciplines, and walk across the stage to receive their diploma and congratulations from the platform party.

Ph.D. candidates are also invited to official hooding ceremonies held by the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism; the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences; the USC Marshall School of Business; the USC Rossier School of Education; these ceremonies will be held on Wednesday, May 8th, and the USC Viterbi School of Engineering.

Family and friends of all our graduates are warmly welcomed to the University Park Campus for the main Commencement ceremony and for the ceremonies of the academic schools.

We look forward to seeing you on this milestone occasion. Congratulations to all the members of the Class of 2024!
